As you watch me ruin my career, let me tell you how this mess got
started and why.
With a web design book
in one hand and a keyboard in the other, I launched this website in
the summer of 1997. At the time, I worked swing shift on the Las
Vegas Strip dealing craps and held a second job as an instructor at
a local dealing school during the day.
As an instructor, I
encouraged students to practice at home but getting used layouts
from casinos were hard to come by so I invented the
Dice Dealer Practice Mat. It was a hit. It was suggested
that I design a website to market the training mat and
Dicedealer.com was born.
The site has eight main sections each offering a little something for
all of us.
Dual Rates - 'A
guide to table game supervision' Designed for dealers who may
have an interest in becoming a floor supervisor. What it is not, are
the opinions of one man, the author Dale Yeazel. This 15 chapter of
opinions belong to the hundreds of people that touched his casino
life. There is nothing like it on the net or in any published book
with such detail. This project is a wonderful resource that
supplements in-house training and college curriculum.
Stump A Lump. Now
under construction; Quiz based PowerPoint presentations featuring
the games Who wants to be a millionaire and Craps Jeopardy. This is a huge time consuming mess
to construct. This replaces the old game that we had with much
better graphics, sound files and navigational structure. When
completed they will be converted to flash.
Casino Stories are my favorite. It
has always amazed me that so many of my peers have sent in so many short
stories. I'm particularly fond of the short stories from days gone by. Humor
is a big part of me. This business offers plenty of it. Tales from the pits
are what bonds us. All of us. We all have a story or two. So please, if you
would like to share an old casino story, send it in. Make us laugh. We tease
everyone on the site, dealers, floor supervisors and even customers that
visit casinos. It's all in good fun. Don't take it so serious.
TheInterviews. What make these interviews special is that the reader
is allowed to participate by asking questions.
The
Table Games
section offers opinions on casino dealing and is a nice reference for
those in dealing schools. Dealers helping future dealers. Many thanks go
out for the contributions sent in for this section of the site.
Poker Club. Ever
want to host a private online poker game with co-workers, friends or
family without having to become members of a poker site that demands
registration and all the hassles that come with it? We have the
answer. This platform is free with no downloads. Simply tell your
buddies to meet you here and start playing your own private game.
Host private online poker games:
you set the stakes,
you choose the rules!
And finally The
forums. The bread and butter of most websites are message boards for
networking. This one is no exception.
This site is one of my hobbies. It will never make me rich but I'm
still having fun with it. Thousands of dealers and floor supervisors
have contributed their time in helping build all this. I am blessed to
have such support. I hope it becomes a small part of your life also.
Thanks for visiting. Enjoy the site.
P.S. My wife Jacki has her hair salon banner ad on the bottom of
all the pages. According to her, that is a fair exchange to keep her off
my back for spending so much time designing this mess. So again, as you
watch me ruin my career, please support hers.
